I'd buy one tomorrow if they were really this slim and functional, but I think this world is a few years away yet ... or maybe Apple will unveil their UMPC killer at the National Association of Broadcasters meeting on Sunday.

Finally, A Decent UMPC

HTC, the cell phone manufacturer, has just announced their own UMPC device.

It looks similar to their Advantage phone, but packs some nice specs.

According to this Engadget article, there's a Via 1.2GHz CPU, Vista business, 7" touch-sensitive widescreen display, 30GB disk, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and every form of data transmission known to man (HSDPA, EDGE, GSM, GPRS).

I'm not sure where they found out about the processor, because I didn't see it in the press release.
