The Ups And Downs Of Life

Thanks to Presurfer for the link to this article discussing a number of interesting staircases.

I love this one, which is more or less traditional on the way up, but is a slippery dip on the way down!

Corona Lights

I found these via Gizmodo.

As their name suggests, the Corona lamps look like the sun's corona during a solar eclipse.

Very sexy ... and so are the lights :-).

Now This Is My Kind Of Laptop

I was having a discussion about ulta-portable laptops with some of my colleagues just last night. Now, this pops onto the radar, via Engadget.

It's 0.7" thick and weighs 2.2 pounds. The glass of the LCD panel goes right to the edge of the display, like a nice high-end TV screen. The keys labels are glow-in-the dark and orange.

Plus, there's an interesting concept for a cover, which has an integrated eInk display that connects to the PC when you put it on. Very clever.

If only I didn't know that it was going to cost an arm and probably two legs!

Nice Design

There's a show on television this evening called The Chase that I've never heard of, so I went searching to find out what it was about. During this journey, I came across a UK design firm by the same name.

Just for fun, I took a look at some of the logos they'd designed for clients. Some of them are very clever. The three below were my favourites. They are for, respectively, an environmentally friendly housing association, a courier service and a strategic marketing company named Conception.

Have a look through the rest of their portfolio, too. There's a heap of good stuff. I particularly liked some of their animated ads (especially the Cosi Fan Tutte, for obvious reasons) and this poster for a dating agency.
