Vista has this nice feature that backs up your files on the fly, as changes are made, generating "previous versions".However, according to this article on Gizmodo, if you want to get them back when disaster strikes, you can't ... unless you've anted up for the Business, Enterprise or Ultimate editions.
Of course, you can retrieve them ... if you upgrade!
