At the other end of the scale, Sandisk has announced a 32GB solid state 1.8" drive.Read access is rated at a sustained speed of 62 Megabytes per second, which is 100 times faster than a hard disk. What's more, it consumes only 0.4 Watts of power while doing so.
Unfortunately, I couldn't track down any data on the write speed.
