I joined a bowling league tonight, along with my good friend Susan. I've played in a couple before, but dropped out over two years ago, when I was busy studying. In fact, since then, I can only remember bowling about four times.

This one is a bit different, because it's a "phantom" league, which means everyone just bowls when it suits them and nobody knows anyone else's scores.

As far as I recall, the average I had when I dropped out was 159. Tonight, over six games (the league started last week, so we had to catch up), I bowled an average of just under 162. I'm putting that down to (returning) beginners luck.

We'll see how it goes next week ...
