Apple Insider has a nice set of detailed photos of the Axiotron ModBook.While I doubt a tablet is in my future (other than those little round ones I'll be taking 20 of each day, in a decade or so's time), it does look like they've done a good job.
Notice that the screen definitely does become quite smudged. Of course, that might not be so visible at the normal viewing angle.
